I love how the short, brisk days of Fall make me want to curl up by a fire with a good book, a warm blanket, and a mug of hot apple cider. I grew up in a home that always felt good to be in, with many nooks for curling up. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that making a house feel like a home is no accident, and I appreciate the efforts my parents made to always make our house warm and inviting, particularly around special times of year. When I moved to the city for school, I missed those many comforts. To help make my apartment feel like home, I started decorating with little bits and pieces to bring the Holidays inside. For me, when Summer turns to Fall, that means hanging string lights around the windows, getting a few small pumpkins to set out, and lighting pumpkin pie scented candles.
